Make hangouts happen.

Stay close with the people who matter most with Melt, an app that helps friends strengthen bonds through hang out idea collaboration, reminders, and simple scheduling

How often do you say “We should hang out sometime!” (and mean it!) but never follow through? It’s because you have too much going on and can’t rely on good intentions to make sure you’re spending time with friends. This is leading to the loneliness epidemic, which medical experts say has a similar impact to your health as smoking 15 cigarettes per day.

Melt makes hanging out easy. It’s not another social media app. It’s a simple interface that allows you to keep track of the friendships that mean the most to you (and to nudge you when the crickets start chirping).

Warm up with what Melt has to offer

  • A cartoon ice cube with a smiling face and limbs hanging from a tree branch. This image is paired with the description of the hangout planning feature as a pun.

    Hang out ideas

Tired of the “I dunno, where do you want to go?” back and forths? Melt helps prioritize ideas and generates recommendations.

  • Cartoon ice cube character with a smiling face, looking at a wrist watch. This is paired with the description about getting reminders when too much time has passed since you hung out with your friend(s).

    Reminders

Melt lets you keep track of how often you hang out with friends and get reminded when too much time has passed.

  • Two cartoon ice cubes with confused facial expressions, each holding a phone, with a question mark above their heads. They are trying to find time to hang out together and getting confused about how hard it is without Melt.

    Easy scheduling

No more massive text chains back and forth trying to find time. Melt has simple calendar tools that don’t feel like you’re at work.

  • Two cute cartoon ice cube characters riding bicycles, one on a red bike and the other on a yellow bike, both smiling. They are spending time together because they are friends and they used Melt to schedule their bike ride.

    Shared interests

Melt sparks ideas for more novel time together based on your unique friendships, which friendship experts say is key to lasting memories and stronger bonds.

LMK when beta launches

An early access version of Melt is coming in Spring 2026.

Melt was founded by Sarah Funk, a product leader with 17+ years of experience creating technology used by millions of people worldwide. The idea for Melt was sparked by an Andrea Gibson poem and a belief that technology can bring people closer, not pull them apart.

Here to make friends

The founder of Melt, Sarah Funk, is shown. She is a middle-aged femme with pink hair smiling behind a flight of beers in glasses. The glasses are in front of a sign that reads 'HOUSE OF FUNK,' which is reflected on the shiny surface of the table.
